In 2002, Greg Glassman published the article “What Is Fitness” in The CrossFit Journal, in which he laid out the Theoretical Hierarchy of the Development of an Athlete. Nutrition sits at the very foundation — it’s what builds everything else. One of the most famous parts of this writing is his prescription in “World‑Class Fitness in 100 Words”:
“Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, no sugar.” CrossFit Fairfield+2BarBend+2
What Protein Does for Your Body
- Food isn’t just about fuel — it’s also about building. Everything from your muscles to your brain and bones comes from nutrients you eat, especially protein.
- When you work out, your muscle fibers undergo microscopic damage. Protein provides the amino acids needed to repair them, making them stronger.
- As we age, maintaining muscle mass becomes one of the most important predictors of health, mobility, independence, and longevity.
