HIIT Training VS CrossFit Durst. What is better for weight loss?

Are you working out to burn calories in hopes of burning so many calories that you lose weight?

I have a secret for you: you’re doing it wrong!

Ladies, this one’s for you…we are the HIIT and cardio junkies, we occupy the most machines on the cardio side of the gym, and we are over 60% of the sales of running race bibs each year. We also fill Zumba, spin and cardio studios around the world.

I am not knocking any of these, but we must realize something. Most of you are attending these classes to lose weight, right? And you decide if it was a good class based on whether it left you sweaty, which means it must have burned many calories, right?

Here’s the deal: no matter how you slice it, one or even two hours of daily fitness only comprise 5-7% of your overall daily calorie burn.

What if I told you there is a way to impact (increase) 40-45% of your daily calorie burn? Wouldn’t that be a better use of your time? We think so.

Our basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the number of calories we burn daily just existing; when we have a high BMR, we burn more calories without even trying. So, how do we improve our BMR? The answer is CrossFit Durst! At CrossFit Durst, our program is designed to help build our client’s BMR; each class has a strength component that allows you to lift under the supervision of a certified coach. Don’t love lifting? Don’t worry. We also have a component that will get you sweating and out of breath.

Strength training and proper nutrition are a metabolism’s best friends; if we can strength train regularly, allow for adequate recovery and get on top of our nutrition, we can turn our metabolism from a sluggish snail to a cheetah on the hunt.

New to lifting? Amazing, at CrossFit Durst this is what we do; we teach women new to lifting how to lift correctly and progress to lifting to a point that improves their BMR. We have a team of 6 female staff members who are here to help you get started.

We also track your BMR by using a machine called an InBody Scan. We set regular goal-setting sessions to see how your training affects your body markers. Don’t run yourself into the ground trying to train harder; let us teach you how to train smarter.
